Me
After graduating from De Montfort University, I began my industrial design career in 1994, working briefly for Jones Garrard as a freelancer.
Before returning to Hotpoint, where I had a won a prize in the BASF plastics student design awards for a summer internship in my 2nd year, Along with the RSA Awards.
Over the next 15 years I developed various platforms/aesthetics identities for the brands (Hotpoint, Cannon, Creda, Indesit and Ariston)
Delivering some of the most recognized and award winning domestic appliances.
Ultimately becoming Group Industrial Design Manager with responsibility for designing goods from washing machines, refrigeration, cooking, dishwashers and built-in products.
Isometric
The 2009 recession closed most of the UK production and R&D teams, manufacturing was transferred overseas to Poland and Italy. I began looking for new challenges, my freelance career took off and Isometric was born in 2010.
I’ve been fortunate to design for some very interesting companies and recognized brands in a wide range of fields. Working alongside some very talented, inspiring people who have menatored me along the way and shared there knowledge and skills.
I enjoy the challenges and rewards of creating concepts from a blank page into a complex model. Overcoming manufacturing, cost, or potential competitor IP issues. While innovating and influencing front-end idea and form generation.
The work continues to be joyfully varied, across a wide range of sectors, house hold appliances, beverage delivery systems, AR, to weedkilling with electricizes to boil weeds from the inside out to mention a few.
